Campground Host Couples

Job Overview

Reports To: 

Campground Hosts will report to the Lead Campground Hosts. 

Job Overview: 

Campground Hosts will engage with guests by warmly greeting them.  They will provide general information and answer any questions that our campground guests may have with extensive knowledge of all Aspen Crossing has to offer.  Other major areas of responsibility will include;  property maintenance, daily operations of the campground, and educating guests on campground rules. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Customer Service: 
  • Answer phone calls on the camp host phone 
  • Check-in/check-out guests through an online app 
  • Complete new bookings and adjustments through an online app 
  • Ensure guests are abiding by the campground rules and regulations 
  • Maintain a safe and positive work environment 
  • General Maintenance: 
  • Campsite maintenance including;  clean picnic tables, weeding, raking, litter pick-up, clean out fire-pits, and wipe down power boxes to ensure sites are ready for next check-in 
  • Maintain cleanliness of washroom facilities, laundry rooms, playgrounds, and public areas 
  • Other: 
  • Deliver firewood, ice, liquor & beer, and food from the Tavern 
  • Bag ice and store in various ice chests 
  • General policing of active and noisy sites during quiet time 
  • Assist units in backing into sites 
  • Operate small equipment:  lawn mower, weed trimmer, John Deere Gator, and pruning tools 
  • Willingness to learn and be trained in other areas 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Cash handling experience 
  • Ability to learn the basics of our online booking system 
  • Strong public relations and customer service skills required.  Must be able to be assertive while maintaining a friendly manner 
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish good working relationships with managers, co-workers, and guests 
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions 
  • Time management skills 
  • Ability to work well under pressure 
  • Ability to defuse confrontational situations in an effective manner 

Location: Mossleigh, AB
Vacancies: 5
Terms of employment: Seasonal, full time 35-40 hours / week, day shift, evening shift, weekends, holidays.
Start date: April 1, 2024. 

Job requirements:

Languages: English
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma.
Experience: Not required, however it would be an asset. 
Work site environment: Rural area, work outdoors, wet/damp/hot weather conditions.
Personal suitability: Reliable, team player.

Equipment and machinery experience: John Deere gator, garden tractor, weed trimmer, pruning tools.

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, repetitive tasks, heavy lifting (bundle of firewood), physically demanding, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
